The 4 Stages Of Blogging Success For Your Online Business

The best way to start your new online business is to start blogging. This will establish a presence in your market, be instrumental in your list building and get your site recognition with the search engines.

However, in order to be successful, you need to understand the four stages of blogging, so that you know what to expect and can implement these stages for maximum results.

The four stages of blogging are getting started, traffic attraction, becoming established, and blog continuity.

Understanding what happens and what you need to do in each of these stages will you get your blogging on a smooth path to success.

1. Getting Started.

In this first phase, you set up your blog site, using a free facility, like Blogger, or my recommendation, a WordPress site. Then you start creating content — good quality information specifically aimed at your target market. You blog, blog, blog and publish three posts a week to start getting your site noticed and start getting visitors.

2. Increasing Traffic.

Once your blog is up, with regular content being posted, you will see an increase in the number of visitors and maybe start to generate some income. You will be focusing on traffic growth by continuing to create good content, and also adding back links, which can dramatically improve your site ratings with the search engines.

3. Becoming Established.

In this third stage, you can expect your online business to keep growing. However, although providing good quality content for your blog is still paramount, it will not now require the same level of effort. You can now turn your attention to creating more income from your blog. e.g. you may start using ad placements, endorsements, affiliate sales.

It is in stage three, that you really start to enjoy the financial fruits of all your previous efforts.

4. Blog Continuity.

In this last stage your blog will be very well established, attracting lots of traffic and generating a healthy income. It will require a lot less effort to maintain your blog success than the previous stages, and can be virtually self generating. However, continuing regular posting of quality content will enable you to maximise the rewards from all your previous work.

Sadly, many people who start blogging, give up before reaping the rewards of stage three. Knowing that the majority of the work you put in to stages one and two is creating the foundations for your future success will encourage you to keep following the plan, even though you cannot yet see the results.
