How To Choose A Business That’s Right For You

How To Choose A Business That’s Right For You

Figuring out how to choose a business when you want to make money from home can be exciting, daunting and a little scary. This post will help you get some pointers and learn from the mistakes I made in the very beginning. I can tell you there were a lot of them!

Some of the best marketing strategies I have learned over the years have been due to the mistake I made in the past.

But what we are going to talk about is what to look for in a network marketing company and the people that are involved with that company. Knowing who you are going to be working with as much a part as the company itself.

I would go as far as to say that it is even more important. Having a good sponsor who will pass on great network marketing tips and advice to you is more important than the comp plan and products.

There are 1000s of different types of businesses out there catering for just about every niche and market on the planet.

You have health and nutrition, travel, technology, precious metals, store cards, toys; the list goes on and on. Some business will complement each other and work well together. So let’s take a look at what you should be looking for so that you know how to choose a business that’s right for you.

  • Company Age
  • Company Leaders
  • Company Product
  • Your Sponsor
  • Your Sponsor’s Upline
  • Training

Company Age – Everyone thinks that if the company is new and they get in at the start they will be the ones sitting at the top of the tree. The truth is you could well be at the top of the tree but for how long?

Most new MLM companies will fail within 2- 3 years of them starting up. Also, you need to be darn good at recruiting people in order to stay at the top. What you don’t realize is that you don’t get paid unless you are bringing people into the business. If you don’t actively build your business your payments do not kick in until you do.

Company Leaders – Finding out who the leaders and CEO is of the company is always one of the first things to look at. Check that the CEO has actually built a network marketing business before if they have then you are onto something that could be good.

They must have spent their time on the front line learning their trade just like any other profession. Today’s top football players didn’t just end up where they are now, they were the ball boys for the clubs, and they cleaned the senior plays boots after a game. They may have even cleaned out the dressing room after each game, but they learned their trade and started at the bottom just like everyone else.

Company Product – Is the product something that is wanted and needed in the market place? No point having a product that everyone else is selling, what’s your unique selling point in that?

Look at the product and think to yourself, would I want a garage full of that if I can sell it? Only you can answer that question. The product has to be something that’s not here today and gone tomorrow but something that will be around for years to come.

Your Sponsor – Find out who your sponsor is and what they will be teaching you. OK, the person might be brand new to the business, but that doesn’t make them a bad choice to do with. I will cover this more in a minute.

You can find out who they are by using Google and searching for their name. If they have a blog then go check it out and see what they are all about.

Your Sponsor’s Upline – I said above that it’s not really important if your sponsor is new or not because they should have a great upline to support you in your business. Remember you are going to be new at some point so you want people who you can turn to for help.

Having that support is going to be critical to your success, knowing that you can pick up the phone and have somebody do a 3-way call with you is priceless.

Training – Find out what sort of training the company is offering, a good company will training on their products, sponsoring and running your business. Their leaders will be doing most of the training so it will be good.

Also, look at the training that provides for you by your sponsor and upline team. If there isn’t anything put in place then really think about starting a business with these people. Find out what is relationship marketing and ask them if they teach its principles as part of their training.

You are looking for a well-established company that has been around for some time. One that will be there in the future with strong leaders and a strong product. Don’t get carried away with all the hype of making big bucks.

Network marketing takes a lot of hard work but it is so rewarding. You have to decide if the pain of having a job and being told what to do, when to do and how to do it is worth it. Or do you want to work hard for a few years and get your life back?

Finding the right upline and mentor is going to play a huge part in your success with your business. Having the right tools, system and training will help along the way
